The Woman Behind the Paintbrush

I’m Hadden, a watercolor artist originally from Birmingham, Alabama, creating detailed nature and specimen studies inspired by the landscapes of the American South and coastlines beyond.

Currently, I split my time between Corpus Christi, Texas and Los Angeles, constantly collecting inspiration from shorelines, native plants, gardens, antique books, and the overlooked details of the natural world.

My work is rooted in observation. I’m drawn to the structure and color of things...and all the small details that often go unnoticed.

With a background in anthropology and an MBA, I approach my work through both an analytical and artistic lens, balancing careful study of color, form, texture, and composition with a style that feels alive and timeless.

Why I started Gilded Palms

Through Gilded Palms, I create artwork for people who feel deeply connected to nature and place. Those drawn to collected interiors, botanical influences, Southern landscapes, and timeless design. My hope is that each painting invites a slower look and encourages a deeper appreciation for the beauty that exists in everyday surroundings.

Whether inspired by the Gulf Coast, or travels across the country, every collection begins with curiosity and a desire to preserve the beauty of what is often fleeting or overlooked.
